A fatal motorcycle crash claimed the life of a rider Monday at the intersection of Hwy. 61 and Hwy. 96, authorities confirmed.
Investigators said the collision occurred when an SUV turned in front of the motorcyclist, identified by officials as Lucker-Milan, resulting in a violent impact. The crash happened at the busy highway intersection, prompting a significant emergency response.
Paramedics and fire crews arrived quickly and rushed Lucker-Milan to Regions Hospital with critical injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, authorities said. No additional injuries were reported.
The Minnesota State Patrol and local law enforcement are investigating the cause of the crash. Factors including right-of-way, visibility, and speed are being reviewed as part of the standard investigation into fatal collisions. The intersection of Hwy. 61 and Hwy. 96 was closed for several hours while crash reconstruction teams documented the scene.
Friends and family are mourning Lucker-Milan’s sudden loss, remembering her as a rider who loved the open road and lived with passion. Tributes began appearing online Monday evening as word of her death spread through the riding community.
“Ride in peace,” wrote one friend. “She was taken too soon.”
Officials have not released further details pending family notification and completion of the initial investigation.
This is a developing story. Authorities ask anyone who witnessed the crash to contact investigators.
