NEBRASKA — The agricultural aviation community is mourning the loss of Rick Boardman, who lost his life yesterday in a tragic accident.

Rick Boardman was more than a respected ag aviation operator — he was a trusted friend, mentor, and dedicated advocate for the agricultural aviation industry. Through his years of service, Rick generously shared his knowledge, guidance, and passion with countless pilots and operators, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him. Especially his employees, friends, and customers felt that impact every day.
As a past President and valued board member of the Nebraska Aviation Trades Association Board of Directors, he devoted his time and leadership to strengthening the industry and supporting its future. Colleagues say his voice carried weight because he led with integrity and never stopped investing in the next generation of pilots.
“Rick didn’t just run an operation — he built people up,” one fellow operator said. “If you had a question, he answered. If you needed help, he showed up. This industry is better because of him, and it hurts to lose him.”
A Legacy in the Skies
Rick’s legacy will live on through the friendships he built, the lives he influenced, and the aviation community he cared for so deeply. From the cockpit to the boardroom, he was known for his skill, his humility, and his commitment to doing things the right way.
