Olivia Grace Videtto Obituary: Connecticut Community Mourns Heartbreaking Loss of 5-Year-Old Following Tragic Accident

The communities of Harwinton and New Hartford are mourning the devastating loss of Olivia Grace Videtto, a bright and beloved 5-year-old girl who passed away following a tragic accident on June 1, 2026.

Born on July 3, 2020, in Hartford, Olivia was the cherished daughter of Tyler and Lauren (Poudin) Videtto. Her passing has left family members, friends, classmates, teachers, and an entire community heartbroken as they remember a young life filled with extraordinary joy, kindness, and love.

According to loved ones, Olivia spent her final moments in a place she adored—playing outdoors beneath a canopy of trees, surrounded by the natural beauty that brought her endless happiness. Though her life was far too short, those who knew her say she embraced every day with wonder, curiosity, and an infectious enthusiasm that touched everyone she met.

A kindergartener at Harwinton Consolidated School, Olivia was known for her bright smile, thoughtful nature, and remarkable ability to connect with others. She loved talking to people, sharing stories, offering compliments, and making friends wherever she went. Friends and family describe her as a child whose heart was overflowing with love and whose presence brought light into every room.

Olivia’s passions reflected her joyful spirit. She loved the colors pink and purple, had a gentle affection for horses, and possessed an impressive fascination with dinosaurs that earned her the nickname of a “tiny paleontologist.” Whether at home, school, church, or out in her community, Olivia found happiness in life’s simplest moments and inspired others to do the same.

She attended services at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and deeply loved her family, especially her younger sister, Georgia, affectionately known as “Georgie.” In addition to her parents and sister, Olivia is survived by her grandparents, Don and Emily Poudin of New Hartford and John and Maryann Videtto of Harwinton; her uncles, Travis Poudin and his wife Tiffany of Southington, and Warren Videtto of Winsted; along with a vast circle of relatives, friends, and community members who cherished her deeply.

As news of her passing spread, an outpouring of grief and support emerged from across the region. Many have shared stories of Olivia’s kindness, innocence, and extraordinary ability to brighten the lives of those around her. Though only five years old, her impact was immeasurable.

Friends and family will gather to honor Olivia’s life during calling hours on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Montano-Shea Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in New Hartford.
