Sailor Zorich Obituary: Dunedin Fire Rescue Mourns Death of 2-Year-Old Daughter of Firefighter

DUNEDIN, Fla. — This past week has been absolutely gut-wrenching for the Dunedin Fire Rescue family.

For the past 5 days, fellow firefighters have stood alongside one of their own as he and his wife — a fellow RN — experienced the unimaginable loss of their sweet 2-year-old baby girl, Sailor Zorich.

“Our hearts are completely shattered alongside the Zorich family,” a close family friend shared. “There are simply no words that can make sense of a tragedy like this, and no family should have to walk through this kind of pain alone.”

If you know a firefighter, you know they are more than coworkers — they become family. They celebrate life’s happiest moments together, and when tragedy strikes, they stand shoulder to shoulder to help carry the burden. Over the past week, members of Dunedin Fire Rescue have gathered around the Zorich family to make sure everyone is as okay as they can be.

“So many of us have cried, asked ‘why,’ and felt the weight of this devastating loss right alongside the family,” the friend said.
