CHATFIELD, Minn. — It is with heavy hearts that Mark and Paula Vitale share the passing of their son, Dr. Nick Vitale, after his courageous battle with cancer.
Nick was more than an owner of the practice — he was a trusted veterinarian, brilliant surgeon, mentor, friend, and a source of comfort for countless families and their beloved pets. His compassion, dedication, and genuine care touched the lives of everyone who walked through the doors.
Whether he was caring for a patient, supporting a client through a difficult decision, or sharing a laugh with a team member, Nick made people feel valued and cared for.
“For those fortunate enough to work alongside him, his leadership was defined not only by his knowledge and skill, but by his kindness, humility, and unwavering commitment to doing what was right,” Mark and Paula Vitale shared. “He built more than a veterinary practice — he built a community founded on compassion, trust, and respect.”
Clients remember a veterinarian who treated every animal like his own and who stayed after hours to make sure worried families got answers. Staff remember a mentor who taught by example and led with heart.
“Nick saved my dog, but more than that, he sat with me when I was scared,” one client said. “He was the kind of vet you prayed you’d find. We’re devastated.”
A Lasting Legacy
While hearts are broken by this loss, those who knew Dr. Vitale say they are grateful for the time they had with him and for the legacy he leaves behind. His impact on the lives of pets, their families, and his team will not be forgotten.
“We extend our deepest condolences to his friends, clients, and all who knew and loved him,” his parents said. “Thank you for your support, understanding, and kindness during this difficult time.”
Dr. Vitale’s impact on his community will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always remain a guiding light for the hospital he built.
May he rest in peace.
