LONE GROVE, Okla. — The Lone Grove community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Cade Garrison Turpin, a beloved son, brother, grandson, teammate, and friend who passed away on June 17, 2026, at the age of 16. His untimely death has left family members, classmates, coaches, and friends grieving the loss of a remarkable young man whose life touched countless others.
Born on November 17, 2009, to Meredith Grace Presley Turpin and Dustin Levi Turpin, Cade spent his entire life in Lone Grove, where he became known for his infectious smile, unwavering kindness, and deep appreciation for faith, family, friendship, and the outdoors.
Affectionately known as “Turp,” “Bubs,” and “Bubba,” Cade was happiest when surrounded by nature. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting turkey, ducks, and deer, fishing in every way possible, and spending countless hours riding ATVs, exploring rivers, lakes, and wooded trails with family and lifelong friends. Those closest to him say it was never about the hunt itself—it was about the experience, the early mornings, and the memories created with the people he loved.
Cade’s passion for the outdoors was inspired by his father, Dustin, his grandfather Dennis “Dado” Turpin, and his cousin Avery, with whom he shared countless adventures. He also enjoyed passing along what he had learned, teaching friends about hunting, fishing, and respecting the natural world.
In addition to his love of the outdoors, Cade was a dedicated student-athlete. He proudly represented Lone Grove High School as a member of both the baseball and football programs, where teammates and coaches came to know him as a hardworking competitor, loyal friend, and supportive teammate. The brotherhood he found through sports became one of the greatest joys of his teenage years.
Baseball held a special place in Cade’s heart. From his earliest days playing tee-ball through varsity competition, his maternal grandfather, Gary Presley, rarely missed a game, faithfully filming each at-bat and cheering him on every step of the way. Their shared love of the sport created memories that his family will cherish forever.
Academically, Cade excelled as an honor student after completing his freshman year at Lone Grove High School. He was also an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, reflecting the faith that guided his life. Teachers, classmates, and mentors remember him as a respectful young man who stood up for others, offered encouragement freely, and treated everyone with kindness and compassion.
At home, Cade treasured his role as the protective and loving big brother to Ivy James Turpin. Whether she was tagging along on adventures or simply looking up to him, Cade embraced his role with patience and love. His family says Ivy, along with his parents and beloved dogs—Roose, Riley, Roxie, and Millie Mouse—will forever miss his warm hugs, bright smile, and joyful presence.
As news of his passing spread, tributes poured in from throughout Lone Grove and surrounding communities. Friends remembered Cade as someone who could light up any room with his humor, positivity, and genuine heart. His legacy is reflected not only in his accomplishments but also in the countless friendships he built and the lives he touched.
Cade is survived by his parents, Meredith Grace Presley Turpin and Dustin Levi Turpin; his sister, Ivy James Turpin; his maternal grandparents, Gary and Shelley Presley; his paternal grandparents, Dennis and Connie Turpin; his extended family; and a large circle of friends who considered him family. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Mason Presley, as well as several great-grandparents and other beloved relatives.
