MARIETTA, Ga. — Robert Lee “Peabo” Bryson, the two-time Grammy Award–winning singer and songwriter whose smooth baritone earned him the title “The Voice of Love,” has died at the age of 75.

Bryson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, surrounded by his family in Marietta, Georgia, following complications from a stroke, according to his family.

Born on April 13, 1951, in Greenville, South Carolina, Bryson discovered his passion for music at an early age and began performing professionally as a teenager. By the age of 14, he had already stepped into a musical journey that would span more than five decades and establish him as one of the most recognizable and beloved voices in soul and R&B.

He earned two Grammy Awards for his iconic Disney duets, including “Beauty and the Beast” with Céline Dion and “A Whole New World” with Regina Belle—performances that remain among the most cherished in contemporary music history.

His extensive catalog also includes enduring classics such as “Tonight, I Celebrate My Love” with Roberta Flack, “If Ever You’re in My Arms Again,” “Feel the Fire,” and “Can You Stop the Rain,” each contributing to his reputation as one of the most influential vocalists of his era.

Bryson is survived by his wife, Tanya Boniface Bryson; his son, Robert “Kittrick” Peabo Bryson; his daughter, Linda Bryson; and three grandchildren. Family members have requested privacy as they grieve this profound loss.

They also expressed gratitude for the overwhelming outpouring of love and tributes from fans and fellow artists around the world, noting the global impact of his music and legacy.
