SHIRLEY, N.Y. — A tragic motorcycle crash in Shirley has left one man dead and prompted a major investigation by Suffolk County Police following a violent collision Sunday evening, June 21, 2026, near the intersection of Clyde Road and Hounslow Road.
According to authorities, the crash occurred when a motorcycle traveling westbound on Clyde Road toward William Floyd Parkway became involved in a collision with another vehicle. The impact was severe, reportedly throwing the rider an estimated 50 feet from the motorcycle.
Emergency medical services and Suffolk County Police responded quickly to the scene and found the rider still had a pulse. Due to the seriousness of the injuries, officers escorted the ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital in an effort to expedite treatment.
