LINCOLN, Neb. — Friends, family, and the Lincoln community are rallying around 21-year-old Logan Stromquist after he suffered a severe, life-threatening head injury in a tragic accident on June 9, 2026.
Logan was helping a friend work on a car in Lincoln when the jack unexpectedly slipped, causing the vehicle to fall and strike his head. The impact resulted in a skull-crushing injury.
By the grace of God and the quick actions of his friends, Logan survived. Two friends immediately lifted the vehicle while another pulled him to safety and called 911. Their courage and fast response saved his life, his family said.
Logan was rushed to Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln, where doctors performed emergency brain surgery. Surgeons removed a portion of his skull to relieve pressure and inserted a drainage tube to help manage swelling. In those first critical hours, doctors were unsure whether he would survive.
Since then, his family says they have witnessed the power of prayer and signs of healing. Logan was initially placed on a ventilator, but by the second day, doctors were able to reduce his sedation and remove the breathing tube. He is now breathing on his own, responding to loved ones, and showing remarkable progress. While he has no memory of the accident itself, his mind remains intact.
Long Road Ahead
At just 21, Logan recently began his first job after graduating from college. He now faces a long road that will include continued hospitalization, rehabilitation, and months of recovery.
In addition to the physical and emotional challenges, the financial burden is significant. His medical insurance carries a $10,000 deductible, and there will likely be additional expenses related to rehabilitation, follow-up care, and time away from work.
“We are asking for your support to help ease this financial burden so Logan can focus entirely on healing,” the Stromquist family shared. “No donation is too small, and every contribution will make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to give, we ask that you please continue to pray for Logan and share his story with others.”
The family expressed gratitude for the love, prayers, and support already received. “We serve a mighty God, and we are thankful for the miracles we have already witnessed in Logan’s journey,” they said.
To support Logan’s recovery, the family has asked for donations and continued prayers from the community.
Please keep Logan and the Stromquist family in your thoughts as he continues to fight and heal.
